This article is intended for students who want to automatically moves messages in Gmail marked with {SPAM?} to the Junk Folder.

Creating a Spam Filter

  1. Open your Gmail account and click on the gear in the top-right corner.  Select Settings.
  2. Under the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab, click Create a new filter.

  3. Type {SPAM?} in the subject line and click Create filter with this search >>

  4. Check the box Apply the label. To create a new label titled Junk, select New label… and enter Junk as a new label name then click Create and Create filter.
