Virtual Private Networking (VPN) software creates a secure, encrypted connection between your off-campus computing device (laptop, phone, or tablet) and the campus network. There are two ways to connect to VPN – either via the downloadable client or via the web.

Via the Client

Cisco AnyConnect

Cisco AnyConnect provides split tunnel access to the UConn network. This is the recommended method of connecting to the VPN.

Retiring Pulse Secure

AnyConnect is an industry leading and widely use VPN service that is replacing our legacy Pulse Secure service. It provides an improved experience for remote connectivity. Please reference our guide for getting set up with Cisco AnyConnect VPN.

Pulse Secure VPN Client

The VPN client option allows members of the University community who have a NetID to securely access University of Connecticut networks and provides full-service access to network resources like those available on campus. The client needs to be installed on your workstation.

To connect using this method on Windows, Mac, Linux, or a Mobile device, please see the Connect via the VPN Client page.
