CaptureSpece Desktop Recorder is available free of charge to all students, faculty, and staff at UConn.

To install and set up CaptureSpace,

  1. Log in to HuskyCT.
  2. Select the My Media link to access your Kaltura media.
  3. Click on the Add New drop down.
  4. Select CaptureSpace.
  5. A download page will appear with links for both Mac and Windows, along with software requirements. Click on the appropriate link for your operating system to download the software.
  6. Once the download is finished, run the installer to begin installation.
  7. After the installation finishes, you will be directed to launch the Kaltura CaptureSpace Desktop Recorder from the Add New menu on your website. Click OK on this message.
  8. Repeat Step 2. 
  9. An External Protocol Request window will then appear, prompting you to launch the application. Click on the Remember Choice checkbox.
  10. Click Launch Application. CaptureSpace will then be configured with your user ID. At that point, you can begin using the software.
